CHAPTER 3 — The Secret He Never Knew

The room went silent.

Pregnant.

The word echoed like thunder.

The husband lifted his head.

“What?”

Katherine’s fingers tightened around the paper.

Her breathing became uneven.

Pregnant?

She placed a hand over her stomach.

Memories flooded back.

The nausea.

The dizziness.

The exhaustion.

She had ignored every sign.

Victor looked stunned.

“You’re carrying a child?”

The lawyer nodded.

“The medical report came in an hour ago.”

The husband crawled forward.

“Our baby?”

Hope exploded inside him.

“Our baby, Katherine?”

Tears filled his eyes.

But Katherine looked at him coldly.

“Our baby?”

She repeated his words.

Then laughed.

A broken laugh.

“When I needed a husband…”

“You gave me cruelty.”

“When I needed protection…”

“You gave me humiliation.”

“When I needed love…”

“You gave me another woman.”

The husband sobbed.

“I made a mistake…”

She stepped closer.

“One mistake?”

She leaned down.

“No.”

“This was a choice.”

“Repeated every day.”

The blonde woman panicked.

“This changes nothing!”

She pointed at Katherine.

“She’s manipulating you!”

Victor slowly turned toward her.

“Remove her.”

Two guards grabbed her.

She screamed.

“Let go of me!”

The husband shouted.

“No! Don’t touch her!”

Katherine stared.

Even now…

He protected the mistress first.

Her final doubt disappeared.

She stood tall.

And made her choice.

She looked at her husband.

“You will never see this child.”

His world collapsed.

“No…”

“Katherine please!”

“No!”

He cried uncontrollably.

But she had already turned away.

Yet just as she reached the door—

A voice stopped everyone.

“Wait.”

It came from the blonde woman.

She was smiling.

A dangerous smile.

“I suppose he never told you.”

Katherine frowned.

“Told me what?”

The blonde woman laughed.

Then dropped the bomb.

May you like

“He married you for a reason.”

“He knew exactly who you were.”
